Koh Tao Day 38 – Traveling to Champorn

by Joel Goldstein on November 10, 2009

  • Got up very early to make sure I can get a ride to the pier… it was pouring rain and I hoped it would let up before the boat ride.
  • I went to 7/11 because that’s the taxi stand in this little island and waited for someone else traveling alone to share a taxi with me.
  • I waited 2 hours before a group of Japanese tourists came and I shared a ride with them.
  • I got to the pier where I switched my old ticket on the boat that wasn’t running to the new one.
  • Waited in the terminal and hopped on the new boat after a few hours.
  • I took Dramamine in the morning and at lunch so I didn’t get sick on the boat.
  • Got to Champorn around 6pm and got a hotel room for 220 Baht around 6-7 dollars.
  • Went to check out the town, grabbed dinner off a cart on the street and picked up some soap and groceries from a supermarket.
  • Went back to the hotel and found out the water doesn’t work! So… No shower.
